Fathers Day 2017

Father's Day always presents itself to me with such mixed emotions. I see people posting on FB all the pictures of their fathers with memories many times attached.  I have very grand memories with my father and not one picture taken together.  My father left us when I was 5 and was sporadically in my life.  I didn't have a strong male role model in my life because of it which affected many of my decisions and behavior in life. However, I am not here to blog about my life but rather the fathers who have been denied that role due to abortion.  Men do not have rights int he decision of abortion and therefore have many lifelong regrets about lost fatherhood. In the pro-choice arena the chant is always about womens rights...what about the men?

Fathers Day is a particularly hard day for those of us who have lost our fathers but I also pray for those who regret their lost fatherhood.  I pray for those who don't have a relationship with their earthly fathers for whatever reason and I also pray for those whose fathers have gone before them and didn't have the chance to mend a difference and live with that regret everyday.
